One of the Most Beautiful Sunset Time Lapse Videos You Will Ever See

Last weekend I spent more than an hour shooting video footage of one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever experienced.  I was able to reduce the length of this video footage down to just 37 seconds.  This short video is worth a look and features a beautiful reflection of the sunset, tremendous cloud activity, boats, ripples and waves across the water and an absolutely gorgeous sky.

Be sure to add a comment and thanks for watching!!!

Love the sunset.  I have the same question as Kimo and Gail. How did you do the time lapse?  Nicely done!

I've seen several posts on time-lapse photography lately. I've gotta few apps that I need to test!

There has been a few questions about how I made this video so I thought I would share what I did.  I set it my camera so that it would take a single photo every 3 seconds for an entire hour.  This gave me about 1200 individual photos and when condensed into a video file at about 30 frames per second it game me roughly a 40 second time lapse video.  We could have shot the entire hour in video footage and sped up the footage to look like a fast forward but the file would have been massive even compressed so this worked much easier and the file was considerably smaller.

I absolutely love time lapse video, and this one was good. We have amazing sunsets right in our back yard quite frequently, and it would be great to have a time lapse of one of them.
