Best New Product I Have Seen In Years

VillageMaker is a brand new web product by Real Pro Systems and you will want to check it out.  It hasn't been officially released yet but the announcement will happen at Inman next week.  I got a sneak preview of VillageMaker at NAR in Las Vegas in early November and once I saw it I haven't stopped thinking about the potential uses for it.  I have been playing with it for about a month now and until recently we have been required to stay very hush hush about it until the product was close to the release date.

VillageMaker is about building and enhancing relationships with your key clients and the top members of your sphere of influence (and there's WAY more potential uses).  I setup my own VillageMaker site as a non real estate site showing a little life outside of real estate.  Here are a couple of pages from my site:

Our Pets Page:   http://www.knoxcountyfriends.com/sammiller/Posts/2264
Fishing Page:  http://www.knoxcountyfriends.com/sammiller/Posts/2208
Waterpark Page:  http://www.knoxcountyfriends.com/sammiller/Posts/2207

Main Page:  http://www.knoxcountyfriends.com/sammiller

I own KnoxCountyFriends.com which is ultimately the main site and KnoxCountyFriends.com/sammiller is my personal site.  I have the ability to add as many clients as I wish because they are all going to be
KnoxCountyFriends.com/whateverIwant and there is only one domain purchase needed ever.  This is key because you can add new client sites in just a couple of minutes and the site works instantly...it is that fast.

There is a feature called Mobile Gallery that is designed to work with your cell phone camera that really rocks.  You can take a photo with your cell phone and within seconds you can have that photo uploaded onto your
VillageMaker site entirely remotely from anywhere you have cell service andyou do NOT need to have access to your computer to make it work.  This feature is something your clients will LOVE.  My 77 year old grandmother is
still amazed at how fast the mobile gallery works.

Understand that you are giving your clients MORE than a website...you are giving them a wonderful way to share their fun times and life experiences with their friends, family and co-workers.  The site is SO much better than using Myspace or anything like it because this site builds relationships between you and your client and it also brands you to their friends in a soft and subtle way.  There is no limit to the number of client sites you can have so you will be motivated to continually add new key people as your friends.

Pricing...here is what I have heard:  $695 setup fee and I am hearing there may be an introductory price near $500.  There is a monthly fee of $50 per month for accounts with less than 25,000 photos.  For accounts over 25,000 photos but less than 65,000 photos the monthly fee is still only $100 a month.

This is an AMAZING product and I am flowing with other potential uses!  Imagine creating a site for your church youth group, another site for your kids ball team, another site for your golf league, another one for your
Harley Davidson friends and there is no limit.  The key is that your clients will lead you to new ideas as they begin to create their own topics within their own sites.  This is a WIN/WIN product for you and your clients.

I would be interesting to look at. Any money out today is a tough call, but hey, tomorrow will be a bit brighter and we are back with an open wallet.

Thanks for the info.

Gary - Happy to help.  I have been a long term user of Real Pro Systems products and they have always exceeded my expectations.  You won't even need a test drive once you connect with them on one of their online webinars...you will instantly say "Sign me up".

Graham - Exactly why I posted it here so that other top agents will have a huge headstart over their competitors.  The marketing process for a new product like this can take a couple of months to really ramp up and spread the word and by that timeI will have a couple hundred sites up and running and already creating brand value and happy clients.

Hi Sam!  I too was blown away with the Village Maker idea.  I was particularly excited to try it out after my annual client Christmas Party - thought it would be an easy way to share the photos with my clients - both those who attended this year and those that had conflicting schedules.  Check it out at http://www.brhomesite.com/patwattam/Posts/2473.  I can't wait to give this to clients to use - what a new level of connecting thru your REALTOR - I think this is a whole other level of cutting edge service we can provide our clients and really create a WOW!  for them and their family and friends!

I have been wanting to cancel my online neighborhood site and find a replacement.  This looks like it has possiblilites for me at a much more reasonable cost.

If a group, like a PTO for instance, has their own website, do they add to it and manage it on their own?

Posted by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Home Team) over 12 years ago

Linda, It is crazy how much some of the competing products are charging on a monthly basis.  Let's use your PTO example and we can come up with a few ideas:

  1. You just create a site like this www.YourTown.com/PTO which we can call option 1.
  2. You can create the same as above except put a link into PTO's main site to this one for content or simply for a photo blog only if that is what you want.
  3. You can create a section within YOUR SITE to discuss the PTO for them and you can insert any information about the PTO you want including photos, they can use the comment feature to have an ongoing blog within your blog if you want.

The cost is unbeatable and you do not have to buy everyone domains because they are truly an extension of your domain.  HURRAY!

Awesome!  I'm ready to sign up NOW.  :-)  I'll be at Inman and tell them you sent me.

Linda, If you are going to Inman you will get to see Village Maker first hand and talk with them because that is where it is officially being launched.  Be sure to report back to us with you Inman experiences.

Don, Happy to help and I have a feeling once you see it and get a chance to kick around some ideas on all the potential uses for Village Maker you will own it immediately.  Happy Selling!

Good post..makes me want to head to the animal shelter and get my new dog!  These posts make the broker or whoever feeds them look human, real, warm and caring.  Which hopefully they are and it shows thru. Plus it shows trust to let every Tom, Dick and Harry come into their personal lives, see pictures of our family and pets.  Out of America, folks do business first with questions answered about family, values and on "what kinda cat is this guy with the cowboy boots, fast talking speech and love for electronics and do I want to do business with him?"

Andrew - Thanks and I see by your post that you instantly got the concept and the power of building relationships and humanizing.

I just attended a webinar on this product this evening and there are so many cool features I got to see in action that I was not aware of.  VillageMaker was a HUGE hit at Inman this week.

Hi Sam,

Isn't this sweet?  I live in Eugene and have become good friends with Joe Lininger and his team.  This concept is so dead-on target for today's agent.

I love your sites!

Hi John - Nice to hear from you and any friend of Joe Lininger is a friend of mine.  Villagemaker is one of the coolest products I have ever seen or used.  The concept is so TODAY and the process is amazing.
