Sometimes it takes a personal experience to cause us to change our way of thinking.  We were working with a corporate relocation client who was moving here from a large metro community.  Before we ever met the client in person we exchanged about a dozen e-mails with us sending real estate listings via email links and the client enjoyed being able to review detailed listing information BEFORE their initial community tour and house hunting trip.  After several information exchanges he sent me an e-mail with the final 8 homes that he felt most interested him.  HERE LIES THE LESSON... he sent along a surprise note that said "Eliminate any home on my favorite list that doesn't offer true high speed internet service meaning...DSL or Cable".

This was not a difficult request of my client but his request got me thinking about just how critical this amenity was to him and I am sure it is to many others.  Something we currently are not promoting in our marketing materials or on our websites is "Broadband Internet Available or Hi Speed Internet Available".  However, this client has got me thinking that this is an amenity that we should be promoting even if only in a subtle way.  Now that this client created the awareness that this is a feature he was not willing to live without...it has become abundantly clear that we need to market this beyond just an MLS listing detail sheet.

I am interested in knowing how many of you are including "Broadband Internet Available or Hi Speed Internet Available" in marketing beyond your MLS listing detail sheet.  I look forward to your thoughts and opinions.

I just finished a "One To One" session on the software program iPhoto.  I thought I had a pretty good understanding of what it did...after today I realized I had only scratched the surface of the features.  Biggest thing I picked up is photo organizing, folders, events, tagging...all which make it super easy to locate a single photo or a group of photos within seconds.  It gave me an idea about adding photos into multiple file folders.  This is something I had not known was possible but with Events, Photos, and Folders you can have the same photo located inside ALL of these plus inside multiple photo folders.  This is a super handy feature because I can now create a folder called "Sam's Active Listings" where I can choose to have my active listing photos inside this folder in addition to in Events, Photos, and inside the listing address folder (example would be "123 North Main Street Photos").  The beautiful thing about this is that after I sell the home I can move the SOLD listing photo from "Sam's Active Listings" and move them into "Sam's 2008 Sold Listings Folder".  This is a HUGE feature that will become very powerful and the more I use it the more value it will become.

I have been using Mac Mail for over a year and it works fine overall.  I previously used Outlook on my PC and the features in Outlook are obviously beyond the features of Mail.  If I use Entourage will I find the program features to be more like Outlook?  I have heard that Entourage is the hot ticket for the Mac but before I make the switch I would like some feedback from other agents who are using Entourage.
