Magic Eraser Demonstration Can Help Get Your Listings In Show Ready Condition (video)

I have been using Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser by Proctor and Gamble for a couple of years now and this product flat out works.  I created a fairly basic video demonstration using my Flip digital video recorder and the quality was so good I decided to create a short web video out of it.  If you are not familiar with the Magic Eraser they are cheap at less than $4.00 for a pack of four which puts them at about a buck a piece.  The real benefit with this product is that when you do a quick demonstration with your client and you show them just how simple the Magic Eraser is to use and how well they clean your clients will immediately gain a new respect for you and your expertise.

Real Estate agents need to demonstrate their value and offer services beyond simply listing their home and this is an example of how you can set yourself apart.  If you are not using some sort of consumer video for home preparation and pricing you could be missing the boat and I would highly recommend you look into them for your benefits and especially for your sellers.

Agents score me high on this video so I can tell my daughter who is my onscreen actress she is the reason I gained a few bonus points (laughing).

Waterfront Homes and A Website Just For Them

There is a website called www.DoDocks.com that is geared for the waterfront housing market.  I have not personally used this site yet but I met with them on two different occasions at the National Association of Realtors Conventions.  I am wondering if any other ActiveRain member has successfully used this site to market their waterfront homes.  I have a feeling that this site may have some potential to help those of us who are active in selling waterfront homes.

If you have any experience with www.DoDocks.com or any other site like it I am sure your comments and experience would be useful for many of us.  Thanks!

Video Question

I have a question that may seem a bit odd.  I used to use a Sony DVD Handycam 301 and back when I used it I recorded a ton of the 1.4 gig mini dvd's.  I am now finding myself not easily able to use the mini dvd's.  I have switched away from the pc platform to the Mac and I am wondering if there is an easy way to convert the video file into something more useable.  The problem is that my new MacBook Pro has an internal DVD slot so there is no actual DVD tray that will hold the mini DVD's.  Does it make sense that I could do a DVD copy with the mini dvd inside my camcorder connected to my computer using Firewire and copying the movies onto my Mac?  Sony DVD 301

Tour Factory Video Tour Upgrading in December

If adding a real estate video is something that seems overwhelming you may want to check out Tour Factory on December 3rd.  Tour Factory is launching a new upgrade that will allow you to export your tours as a video according to their website and some discussion I have had with others.  This could be a really nice way to go if you want the power of video search engines such as Google Video, MySpace Video and obviously YouTube.  This new upgrade is probably more of a slideshow video than a real video product but it may be just what some agents are looking for.  Tour Factory Logo

A Little Thanksgiving Chicken Soup For The Soul

Thanksgiving is upon us once again and this year I wanted to do something a little different.  You may have heard of a book called "Chicken Soup For The Soul" and I wanted to share a few stories that are featured in this book.  I hope these stories touch your heart the way they have touched mine.

Happy Thanksgiving!

One At A Time.  A friend of ours was walking down a deserted  Mexican beach at sunset.  As he walked along, he began to see another man in the distance.  As he grew nearer, he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it out into the water.  Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean.

As our friend approached ever closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach and, one at a time, he was throwing them back into the water.

Our friend was puzzled.  He approached the man and said "Good evening, frined.  I was wondering what you are doing."  "I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean.  You see, it's low tide right now and all of these starfish have been washed up on the shore.  If I don't throw them back into the sea, they will die up here from lack of oxygen.

"I understand," my friend replied, "but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach.  You can't possibly get to all of them.  There are simply too many.  And don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beachs all up and down this coast.  Can't you see that you can't possible make a difference?"

The local native smiled, bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea, he replied, "Made a difference to that one!"

Puppies For Sale.  A store owner was tacking a sign above his door that read "Puppies For Sale."  Signs like that has a way of attracting small children, and sure enough, a little boy appeared under the store owner's sign.  "How much are you going to sell the puppies for?" he asked.  The store owner replied, "Anywhere from $30 to $50."

The little boy reached in his pocket and pulled out some change.  "I have $2.37, " he said.  "Can I please look at them?"  The store owner smiled and whistled and out of the kennel came Lady, who ran down the aisle of his store followed by five teeny, tiny balls of fur.  One puppy was lagging considerably behind.  Immediately the little boy singled out the lagging, limping puppy and said, "What's wrong with that little dog?"

The store owner explained that the veterinarian had examined the little puppy and had discovered it didn't have a hip socket.  It would always limp.  It would always be lame.

The little boy became excited.  "That is the puppy that I want to buy."  The store owner said, "No, you don't want to buy that little dog.  If you really want him, I'll just give him to you."  The little boy got quite upset.  He looked straight into the store owner's eyes, pointing his finger, and said, "I don't want you to give him to me.  That little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and I'll pay full price.  In fact, I'll give you $2.37 now, and 50 cents a month until I have him paid for."

The store owner countered, "You really don't want to buy this little dog.  He is never going to be able to run and jump and play with you like the other puppies."  To this, the litle boy reached down and rolled up his pant leg to reveal a badly twisted, crippled left leg supported by a big metal brace.  He looked up at the store owner and softly replied, "Well, I don't run so well myself, and the little puppy will need someone who understands.

FaceBook Uses

I am new to FaceBook and I would love to hear your FaceBook ideas, concepts and unique uses of this social network.  I am 100% sure that there are dozens of uses that I have not considered yet.  Can you tell me a couple of key benefits of using FaceBook over MySpace?  I have done some basic searches and I like the look and feel of this site and it is fairly easy to navigate and I am sure I will begin to buzz right through it once I finish updating my FaceBook profile.

30 second commercial contest

We edited this RE/MAX commercial and if you look close you will see that the TV and the real estate sign have been customized with my branding along with the closing tagline that goes with the cat theme... "While selling your current home to someone who finds it absolutely PURRRRRFECT...when you want results call Sam Miller at 397-7800.

The quality of this video is a bit weak because I had to compress it down a bit but I hope it is clean enough for you to get the basic idea.

New Short Sale Product Offered By Real Pro Systems At NAR in Las Vegas

Joe Lininger of Real Pro Systems is by far my favorite internet guru.  I always enjoy meeting up with Joe and I had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours with him before and during the National Association of Realtors Annual Convention this week.  Real Pro Systems is very well known for their lead generation stealth websites, their agent podcasts, agent blogs and their lender sites.  Joe shared with me that Real Pro Systems has just released a new Short Sale Product.  With the number of foreclosures in America on the rise I am sure that agents will certainly benefit from this new service.   You can check them out at www.RealProSystems.com
