Many of us are a bit technology crazy and we strive for many of the latest and greatest tech tools that come on the market. The iPhone certainly got my attention but I never pulled the trigger because of AT&T/Cingular service but there were some features I saw as big benefits so I have to say that device has been on my mind lately. I love the wifi feature and I love the idea of being able to view REAL websites and not scaled down sites like I have to view on my TREO. The new iPod Touch offers the wifi feature without the phone so this seems like a really good option...but wait a minute before you buy one.
The photo above is my very first tablet computer that I bought 3 or 4 years ago...it's the original HP 1100 TC. The reason I am showing you this is because it is a full blown computer photographed without the removeable keyboard. The screen is about 10 inches long so it is MUCH easier to view than the smaller handheld devices with much smaller screen sizes. Imagine using this super lightweight slate computer to do your wifi surfing and video demos like you would on a iPOD Touch or an iPHone. These old tablets are the hot tickets for web surfing. They are very thin and very light considering especially because they are an actual computer. If you have one of these remember it also has Infra Red and most have BlueTooth, it also has a killer voice recognition feature and it can convert your handwriting into a text fonts.
If you have one of these and you replaced it with a newer and faster computer you may want to pull it back out for a different use...it can become your new ultra thin portable wifi device. It feels good to recycle your old technology and put it to good use again.
